1972 Plymouth Fury

Question: What would the full-size coupe drivers of the Seventies and Eighties drive today? A: Not the big coupes, because there aren’t any. I suppose there’s still the Bentley Continental and the BMW 8-Series, but that’s not really what we’re talking about here.

We are talking about cars that are so large, that cutting a pair of their doors does not affect utility much. And such cars were once the norm. By the end of 1973, every American brand – even AMC – offered a full-size automobile in coupe form. Sadly, AMC dropped the Ambassador full-size coupe in 1974.
