Curlin’s Nest completes doubles for hot connections in Demoiselle

NEST(f, 2, Curlin—Marion Ravenwood, by AP Indy) completed a Class II double for coach Todd Pletcher and cyclist Irad Ortiz, Jr. when she beat Venti Valentine (Firing Line) two-to-two in New York in a Demoiselle S. match Saturday afternoon at Big A. It was a record seventh Demoiselle victory for Pletcher, who before that a race had defeat Mo Donegal (Uncle Mo) with a similar score of difficulty on GII Ranch Remsen S. Ashview and Colts Neck Stables bred both Remsen and Demoiselle winners. A graduate debut lasted five games with 8 1/2 pounds in Belmont on September 25, Nest came closest to third in Tempted on November 5, completing a neck behind the re-reflective Magic Circle opposite to (Kantharos). The Nest is hung wide in the center of the pack as the Magic Circle runs clear through the divisions: 25.05 and: 50.72. She placed a four-time wide bid approaching the 1/4 pole, with Venti Valenti taped to her left flank and the pacesetter struggling with her lead but still lighting up during the day. Nest has extended its stride and has more to offer, reporting home half the length of the Venti Valentine in 1:55.07 (compared to Remsen’s 1:53.61). Sales history: $350,000 ylg ’20 KEESEP.
