David Adeleye returns to the ring against Solomon Dacres in March

DAVID ADELEYE will begin his rebuilding job with a crack at the English heavyweight champion Solomon Dacres in March.
Adeleye suffered the first defeat of his career in October when he was stopped inside seven rounds by Fabio Wardley in Saudi Arabia. But he will make his return in March in this encounter with Dacres, according to Frank Warren.
He said: “Dacres will fight, we hope, David Adeleye. That will be in the UK and it might be on our March date.”
That show is expected to take place on March 16 in Birmingham, which is Dacres’ home city.
The undefeated English champion signed promotional terms with Queensberry in November and will now take on another Warren fighter in Adeleye.
The British Boxing Board of Control had ordered rising star Moses Itauma as Dacres’ mandatory but Warren said: “Itauma is there if we want to go down that route. I don’t know yet. He’s 19. I’ll do what I need to do with him. Nobody is going to make matches for him except for me.”
Dacres is currently 8-0 with two stoppages and won the vacant English title via his second round stoppage of Robert Ismay in March.
After his crushing defeat to Wardley in Riyadh, Adeleye is now 12-1 (11).
