Dell is about to remove the Mobile Connect app, and it will soon be unavailable for download globally. This app is used to sync your smartphone’s text messages, calls, notifications and more with your PC. It allows users to send text messages and make calls through their computer. The Mobile Connect app comes pre-loaded on all Bluetooth-enabled Dell Inspiron, Vostro, G-Series and XPS devices running Windows 10 or later. Alienware PCs received a remastered version of this app called Alienware Mobile Connect, which offers similar functionality. This app is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
The support page afterward Dell Mobile Connect The app mentions that it will be removed from its website on July 31 for all countries except the US, Canada, and Japan. The app will be discontinued later this year on November 30th, meanwhile, for the three countries mentioned above, Dell Mobile Connect will be delisted on November 30th and will be discontinued next year on January 31st.
Dell also mentioned on the support page that it recommends users to uninstall the Dell Mobile Connect app before their regional outage date. This is supposed to ensure an optimal device experience for the user.
To recall, the first Dell Mobile Connect app display at CES 2018. It comes pre-loaded on Dell laptops starting January 2018. In addition to messaging and calling, the app has screen mirroring and can work without internet.
However, this application is not pre-installed on the recent Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 launched in India. This laptop features a quad-sided 13-inch Infinity Edge display with a UHD+ display. It is powered by 12th generation Intel Core 28W processor. Its price in India starts at Rs. 1,59,990 for the ADL-P Ci5-1240P 12 Core model.
