Ram truck working on some edits and updates 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups for the 2023 model year.
The updates of the model year mainly focus on new safety and infotainment technologies.
A spokesperson for Ateco, the Australian distributor of Ram Trucks, could not confirm if or any of these updates for Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup truck will go down.
It’s worth noting that although all Ram pickups sold in Australia are manufactured at the same manufacturing facilities as the US models, before being converted from left- to right-hand drive by The Walkinshaw Automobile Corporation in Clayton, Victoria.
Headlining the changes for 2023 is the availability of a 12-inch “frameless” digital instrument cluster on the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 ranges.
This replaces the analogue watch dial and the 7.0-inch TFT trip computer display.
The 12-inch digital instrument cluster offers five configurable tiles, with all of the cluster settings able to be saved to the driver profile.
The driver can also choose between analog or digital gauges on the digital instrument cluster.
All 2023 Ram models also receive rear seat reminders, as well as LED lighting on the rear steering wheel.
Ram 1500 models with the 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment display now receive the Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS).
The Ram 1500 Rebel, which is not locally available, now gets Selec-Speed Control, which is essentially a low-speed, terrain-oriented cruise control system, as standard.
The technology is also part of the Back Country Package on the Ram 1500 Big Horn and Lone Star variants, as well as the Off-Road Group on the Ram 1500 Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Limited Longhorn and Limited variants.
There are also new 22-inch off-road tires from Off-Road Group on Ram 1500 Laramie, Limited Longhorn and Limited models.
Two special edition Ram 1500 models will join the range for the 2023 model year; Limited Elite Edition and (RAM) Red Edition, both with unique specifications.
The Ram 2500 and 3500 are available with an optional digital rearview mirror that displays real-time video from a rear camera and can be turned off to revert to a traditional mirror.
There are new trailer mirrors with telescopic capabilities available on the Ram 2500 and 3500 ranges.
The Laramie and Limited variants of the Ram 2500 and 3500 are now available with the new Mopar sports performance bonnet.
Trailer Reversing Control is now available on the Ram 2500 and 3500, allowing drivers to use the dial to navigate to where they want the trailer to go and automatically drive there.
Finally, the Ram 2500 and 3500 models now feature “improved camera systems”, including trailer rear view and blind spot.
Ram still offers the older Ram 1500 DS-pickup model in Australia, known as the Ram 1500 Classic in the US, but none of these model year updates have been applied to it.
While Ram Trucks Australia has not confirmed when or when these 2023 model year updates will be coming to Australia, they have recently announced that put Ram 1500 TRX ready to baja down.
