Dior show in Spain sparkles with flamenco notes, couture collaboration

The event at the city’s historic Plaza de Espana introduced the French brand’s new “Cruise 2023” collection, featuring looks that evoke the Duchess of Alba, the world’s most prestigious aristocrat and symbol flamenco fashionista for decades at Seville’s Feria de Abril until her death in 2014.

Dior’s Italian creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, told Reuters that the show and collection included a number of collaborations, including one with Spanish choreographer Blanca Li.
Chiuri said other collaborations have produced individual items, such as hats, and what she calls “high-fashion and very unique” embroidery with threads made from “real silver and real gold”.
“I’ve never seen it before, not in Paris, not in Italy and not in India,” Chiuri said.
