Dubai, Abu Dhabi begin to roll out speed bumps amid fear of new variant ‘Omicron’
Dubai and Abu Dhabi begin booster coronavirus vaccines as countries around the world seek to test the development of a new strain of the virus.
In Dubai, the emirate’s health authority tweeted on Sunday. Neighboring Abu Dhabi also asked the public to take enhanced photos, according to a tweet from the emirate’s media office. It does not specify the type of vaccine.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which are part of the United Arab Emirates, are rolling out boosters amid worldwide concern that the new COVID-19 ‘Omicron’ variant will usher in aircraft lockdowns new and fast moving.
Several countries have suspended flights to areas of southern Africa where the new strain of bacteria has been detected. Israel banned foreigners from entering the country for two weeks.
The UAE has launched one of the fastest vaccination campaigns in the world. It said last week that 100% of those eligible had received their first dose, while more than 90% had received both doses.
