Eddie Hearn Says Katie Taylor And Amanda Serrano Need Each Other
Via Jeff Aaron: Eddie Hearn says Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano’s best bet for their next fight is to let a rematch take place.
Many US boxing fans who watched last Saturday’s fight between undisputed women’s lightweight champion Taylor (21-0.6 KOs) felt that Serrano (42-2-1, 30 KOs) ) were blinded by the referees who played their match at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Interestingly, many British fans felt that the match result was a fair one, with the Irishman Taylor winning.
When looking at it from an unbiased point of view, it seems Taylor didn’t do enough to win the fight by choosing to go in survival mode from round six to round nine after she’s lit up like a Christmas tree by Serrano in season five.
Taylor fought hard in the tenth round, but she was injured again. Sadly, all three judges put Taylor in the tenth round, which highlights how the judges were poor. Surprisingly, these three also didn’t let Taylor get to the fifth round.
He admits that no boxer who has anyone else they can fight will make the same amount of profit as they would fight again.
Score: 97-93, 96-93 for Taylor, and 96-94 for Serrano.
Eddie Hearn tells iFL TV about Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano: “I think people will want to watch that fight again. “I don’t know. Sometimes, you need each other,” Hearn said when asked what would happen to Taylor if Serrano wasn’t her next opponent.
“What other battle would Amanda be in that would be nearly as big? And maybe, what other battle could Katie take that would be anywhere near as big? “
“People talk not only about the size of the crowd, but also about the noise,” says Hearn Against TV Hub about the fan excitement for Taylor-Serrano.
In the fourth part, [round 5]she tries to catch & counterattack, and she doesn’t have to, but she loves fighting, and that’s why people love watching her,” continued Hearn about Taylor choosing to stop moving moved non-stop and really fought in the fifth round, and she paid a huge price for it.
“The way she performed to come back in season six was incredible and boxed up at the end of the game. In the tenth, it was an absolute fight. I think she won the competition 6-4, and I feel she deserves to keep her belt.
“I want to bring her back to Ireland. It would be a shame if we didn’t do it before her career was over, but let her celebrate,” Hearn said of wanting Katie Taylor to fight.
“She was the biggest star in women’s boxing, and now she’s one of the biggest stars in world boxing,” Hearn said while praising the 35-year-old Taylor.
“Liam Smith was great against Jessie Vargas. He was very, very strong,” Hearn said.
