EHV case confirmed at Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Parks confirmed on Sunday a case of EHV at the Barn 21 property.
“On January 21, Gulfstream Park identified a horse showing signs of EHV,” the track said in a statement. “That horse was immediately transferred to Rood & Riddle Veterinary Hospital in Wellington and affected barn, stall 21 was placed in immediate quarantine. Testing was conducted through the Frederick Diagnostic Laboratory in Maryland, which confirmed EHV positive. Barn 21 remains strictly locked to GSP protocols. One of the quarantined horses was set to run in the Pegasus World Cup but was withdrawn before the following placement draw. We are awaiting further instructions from the state veterinarian and will provide updates as they become available.”
