Elected Breeders Cup members
A total of 20 individuals have been elected as Breeders’ Trophy Members, it was announced on Tuesday. Voting for the 2022 Membership election by the Breeders’ Cup 2021 pony and stallion nominees was closed at 5:00 p.m. ET June 6.
The following individuals, listed in alphabetical order, received the most votes from the Breeders Cup nominees to fill the 20 Members seats. Each Member will serve four-year terms: Rory Babich, Antony Beck, Gatewood Bell, Case Clay, Alan Cooper, Everett Dobson, William S. Farish, Jr., H. Greg Goodman, Jonathan Green, Fred W. Hertrich, III, Jak Knelman, MV Magnier, Pope McLean, Jr., Gavin Murphy, Garrett O’Rourke, Mike Pons, Daisy Phipps Pulito, Jaime Roth, Tom Ryan and Shunsuke Yoshida.
Barbara Banke, Breeders’ Cup President, said: “I am delighted to congratulate our new and re-elected Members who will serve the Breeders’ Cup for the next four years. “Together with current Members, we will seek their insights and expertise in an ongoing effort to advance the Breeders’ Cup World Championship, our racing programs, as well as the safety and integrity of all Thoroughbred racers.”
Breeders’ Cup ponies and stallions members are elected annually by the Breeders’ Cup ponies and stallions through a proportional voting system based on how much nominations are paid to the organization. A total of 39 Breeders Cup Members were elected. Members meet every July and elect individuals to the Breeders’ Cup Board of Directors, the body that oversees the organization’s activities.
The online part of the Breeders Cup Director election will begin on July 1 and end on July 8. Voting results will be announced after the annual meeting of the Breeders Cup members. reared on July 14.
