Enni Vs. Villa – Tonight’s boxing results from Atlantic City
Via Mark Eisner: Roiman Villa will bring the relentless heat to Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis tonight, aiming to claim his IBF interim welterweight title. Villa (26-1, 24 KOs) looked brutally strong at Friday’s weigh-in, and there’s a feeling that if Boots can’t control his strength, he’ll be added to the knockout record. followed by Venezuelans.
Ennis-Villa will take place at the Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City. Tonight’s live boxing will be on Showtime starting at 9:30pm ET
24h Boxing News will update the results of tonight’s match directly below.
- Middleweight Euri Cedeno (5-0.5 KOs) defeated the previously undefeated William Townsel (5-1, 4 KOs) by knockout in the first round. Cedeno, 23, originally from the Dominican Republic, knocked Townsel out twice in the round with his left hand. Referee Charlie Fitch intervened and halted the match after the second knockdown.
- Heavyweight Steven Torres (6-0-1, 6 KOs) stopped the previously undefeated James Evans (6-1-1, 6 KOs) in the third round of a scheduled eighth-round competition.
- Middleweight prospect Dwyke Flemmings Jr (4-0, 4 KOs) scored a third-round knockdown against Henry Rivera (2-1, 1 KO) in a scheduled four-round match. 19-year-old Flemmings Jr injured Rivera in the third round and arbitrarily knocked him down, leading referee Charlie Fitch to intervene to halt the contest. Rivera hit Flemming Jr with punches after the bell in the first and second half. Flemmings returned fire after being hit late at the end of the second half.
With his immense strength, Villa is able to cause an upset by taking down Ennis, who recently showed in the final fight that he is not as much of a fighter as many fans think.
If you’re a Boots Enniss fan, it’s disturbing how skinny he looked at Friday’s weigh-in, weighing 145.5 lbs, a weight identical to his last unremarkable performance. before Karen Chukhadzhian.

Prediction for Ennis vs Villa
Venezuela’s Roiman Mansion has the size and power to give Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis a world of trouble for the twelve-round bout of their Showtime main event.
What’s surprising about Villa’s size advantage is that he’s fought in 135 & 140, it’s hard to imagine that he can break through those weight classes.
Boots Ennis has the bloodline & boxing prowess to win this match with ease and leveraged Villa’s attacking play to score the equalizer in the middle of tonight’s match.
Guess: Ennis by TKO in the sixth round against Villa.
“I like the energy from Villa. He said he was coming to fight, and he seemed ready. Boots is ready, so I’m just waiting to see how it goes down,” coach Greg Hackett told YSM . Sports Media about the main match of tonight’s event between Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis on Showtime.
“Honestly, bigger man means bigger goal. That’s the way you have to look at it,” said Greg reacting when told that Roiman looked bigger than Boots Ennis when they spoke live on stage during Friday’s weigh-in.
“He [Villa] It’s going to bring pressure, and I think he’s stronger than people think. He’s a pure puncher, and he’s mean, so I’m really excited because I want to see Boots dig in and take him down, and I think he’s going to have to. So I think it’s going to be a good fight.”
Ennis will deal with the pressure
The pressure from Roiman tonight will be enormous, like the weight of 35,000 feet of seawater on Boots Ennis.
It will be difficult for Boots to deal with that pressure because this is not a gentle touch like some of his past opponents. Villa can actually fight, and he will stand above Jaron, forcing him to engage in a war of attrition.
“I think in this game here, Boots will be more focused than the one against Karen because it’s a bigger night,” said Greg. “It was a pay-per-view night. It was a Tank night.
“It’s one of those ventures where you get two stars in one night. So that night, I felt a lot more pressure, a lot of energy and a lot of bad things going on.
“Here tonight [Ennis-Villa] It’s like, ‘Okay, I know what it’s like to show my ** and really fight on a big card.
“The level of excitement is really high, but now I’ve really learned from the experience and slowed down and calmed down.’ I think he [Boots Ennis] would be really right for this one, really sharp.
“Anywhere on the body, that’s what I want to see. a stab [jab to the body] like a gap breaker or should I say, a gap stops you from entering,” says Hackett.
