Eurovision names Liverpool as host city for its 2023 Song Contest honoring Ukraine

The Beatles’ home city of Liverpool, UK will be participating in the festivities at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest next May, race, contest announced Friday.
Liverpool beat close competitor Glasgow, Scotland to host the 67th popular music competition in which different countries in Europe and the Mediterranean region send a singer or group perform on stage a country song that is then voted on.

Broadcaster and host Graham Norton also announced the news on Twitter, write, “Congratulations Liverpool!!! @Eurovision @bbceurovision See you in May!!! ”
The contest website says the “Final” of the competition will take place at the Liverpool Arena next to the River Mersey on Saturday May 13, with semi-finals in the week to that date.
“Liverpool is the ideal place to host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine,” said European Song Contest executive supervisor Martin Österdahl in a statement. “Cities are synonymous with music and the Liverpool Arena exceeds all the requirements needed to host a global event of this size. We were impressed with the passion the city showed in embracing the Contest and their comprehensive idea of placing last year’s winner, Ukraine, at the center when thousands of fans arrived. visit next May. ”
The last time the UK played host to Eurovision was 25 years ago in 1998, when the show took place in Birmingham.
