Even scores (Unbridled's Song–Ashtabula, by Rahy), a resident of Old Friends for the past year, died at the age of 26 after suffering from a stomach ache. He was euthanized at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital on Saturday, April 13.
As MSGW & GISP during his four-year racing career, Even the Score stood at Rosendo “Ro” Parra’s Millennium Ranch before he retired in 2020. Among the 17 leather type winners black in a career in which he sired from his 15-crop crop, featuring multiple Grade I Dullahan winners and scorers.
“Even Score is a special horse to our family,” Parra said. “My wife and I were in tears when we learned he had to be put down. Even Point is our first graded stakes winner. We are so grateful to Old Friends for taking care of him over the past year.”
John Nicholson, president and chief executive officer of Old Friends, added: “While Even the Score had a proud career both on and off the track, he was especially special to us at Old Friends because he was a friendly and gentle stallion who was loved by everyone. everyone at the farm. We will miss this fine horse and will always honor his memory.”
