Ex-congressman Vijay Goel’s phone was snatched near the Red Fort
New Delhi:
Police said former MP Vijay Goel’s mobile phone was snatched from near the Red Fort in north Delhi on Monday.
The incident happened as Mr Goel was traveling from Daryaganj to the Red Fort via Upper Subhash Marg, they said.
Around 7:45 p.m. yesterday, when his car approached Jama Masjid metro station, a person approached him, snatched his phone and fled, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said.
PSO ASI Satyavir has informed police about the incident, he said.
The defendant, identified as Sajan, was arrested on Tuesday morning. Police recovered Goel’s phone from him, officials added.
