Explosions reported in Afghan capital, casualties unknown
Kabul:
Locals said an explosion, apparently caused by an improvised bomb, fell in an area west of Kabul on Monday, causing a number of casualties.
Ahmad Murtaza, a shopkeeper in the Kote Sangi area, said: “I was busy with a customer when an explosion shook the store. “I saw people taking victims from the site of the explosion, I don’t know if they were dead or injured.”
Tolo News television quoted an unnamed security official as confirming that the explosion had taken place but said there were no casualties.
The incident came two days after a magnetic bomb destroyed a minibus west of Kabul, killing and wounding several people in a subsequent attack by the self-proclaimed Islamic State.
