The Pull out the knife the actor is currently attending the 75th Cannes Festival in France, recently spoke with indianexpress.com ahead of her red carpet debut on the French Riviera. Her first look was a sparkly custom Prada dress for the movie screening Final cut (Coupez!). Styled by Molly Dickson, Langford’s ensemble features silver sequins and a sweep train.

L’oréal Paris celebrates 25 years of cooperation with Cannes; What do you have to say about the association and how special is it to you?
The Cannes Film Festival is always very special in my heart. Bringing movies, fashion and filmmakers together is special and exciting. In a way, it’s even more fun to be able to come together and celebrate the movies. [It is] celebrates the 25th anniversary of L’oréal Paris sponsoring the festival, and so it’s a real privilege and honor and I’m delighted to be here.
The L’Oréal Paris ‘Lights On Women’ Awards will honor a female filmmaker. In your opinion, what does it say about the brand and the future of filmmaking?
This is the Awards’ second year – last year was its inaugural year – and it’s an incredible initiative to capture the attention of promising female filmmakers. One of the things I love about them is that they really stand behind the values of empowerment, equality and this is just another example of how they empower women. So it’s a real privilege and a pleasure to be with them – as an actor and young woman, to join the conversation and support female filmmakers in telling their stories. phenomena through their lenses.
What made you want to be a part of this initiative?
As a spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris, it’s an honor to be able to support these incredible initiatives and be part of the conversation, especially with the Lights On Women Awards.
Tell us about some makeup products that you always carry in your bag when you step out.
I love experimenting with bold looks, but I also think it’s really important to have moments of self-care, sometimes no makeup or minimal makeup. I try to keep my routines simple. I have a few products that are my staples, one of which is a revitalizing hyaluronic acid serum. I take it with me at home, when I travel – it’s just a really quick and easy way to replenish water. I also love Wonder Water, it’s great for your hair.
I always try to bring mascara or lipstick – they can take you from day makeup to nighttime makeup. Or they can be used for editing. [They are] Simple things to carry in your pocket.
What skincare routine do you follow before and after makeup?
I want to keep it simple. I think that taking care of your skin and taking care of yourself is really important. Before makeup, I like to have a little moisturizer. Then a good moisturizer. If you want to draw eyebrows, that’s fine, or even if you want to create a minimalist look with just a bold lip color.
After that, it is important to remove makeup. Keep it simple.
When it comes to the red carpet, is there any particular look that you prefer over others, or do you prefer to experiment?
I definitely love experimenting. I like having fun with looks; I like the bold look. I think fashion and beauty are both about losing yourself, feeling confident and [finding out] what makes you feel beautiful. So I really enjoyed working with what we were looking at and creating something beautiful and unique.
And what can you tell us about your look at Cannes this year?
I want to keep it a secret! I guess you’ll see. But, I have a couple of Cannes visits and I want them to feel glamorous and want it to be like a tribute to the movies, because we’re here celebrating all the great movies and filmmakers. .

Red carpet appearances aside, what does your wardrobe look like when you’re just someone who frequents your day?
I think a good pair of jeans… I like to experiment, but for my job, I have to have a certain outfit. So I can wear a pair of jeans and basics like a t-shirt or anything that I can mix and match. However, I do like to pair them with some of the bolder outfits that I personally love, to have fun with those looks – whether it’s a knit or a pretty dress.
I think it’s important that you have personality in the way you dress.
