Fear after water leaks from cracks in Andhra .’s largest reservoir

The temple town of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh has been flooded for four days in a row, with renewed concerns about cracks developing in the state’s largest reservoirs located in the town. No downpours have been reported but violations on highways and other roads have cut off some villages that are still flooded.
At Ramachandrapuram in Tirupati, some cracks have developed in the roads around Rayala Cheruvu, one of the oldest and largest reservoirs in the state, and it has begun to leak leading to fears there may be a A cataclysm suddenly hit the surrounding villages. A public warning has been issued asking people to bring essentials, documents and move to higher locations. “The bundle is in danger of breaking. Leave as soon as possible. Leave the village. Come with us. Take your valuables and documents with you and leave. Notify your loved ones. You. The bundle is in danger of breaking. Please leave.” an official was heard in the area.
In Chittoor district, a large amount of water from upstream and from the Tirumala Hills caused the Swarnamukhi River to flow, filling reservoirs and causing flooding. The soil in the reservoirs has become oversaturated with water. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of the state on Saturday morning.
At least 24 people have died in the state and many people were reported missing in flooding that affected the Rayalaseema region of the state. Several districts have been severely damaged after rain caused by two depressions developing in the Bay of Bengal resulted in torrential flooding.
