CG says:
For 2022, the Subaru Forester gets updated styling and a new all-terrain model, along with a number of safety improvements. The Forester is offered in base, Premium, Sport, Limited, new for 2022 Wilderness and Touring versions. Wilderness includes unique off-road directional features such as increased ride height, front skid plates, increased roof rack weight capacity, “StarTex” waterproof seats and unique off-road tyres. on 17 inch wheels. Regardless of trim level, all Foresters have a 182 hp 2.5-liter flat-four engine mated to a CVT continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard.
Also standard is EyeSight, a suite of safety features that includes forward collision warning and mitigation, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering, adaptive cruise control, and Tow Alert. set, will beep to let you know where the vehicle ahead of you is. Traffic moves away from the stop and you don’t. Subaru says the EyeSight system’s camera sensor has been upgraded for 2022, and a new Autonomous Emergency Steering feature (which assists in steering control to avoid collisions at speeds below 50 mph) is available. Only available on the top Touring model is Subaru’s DriverFocus system, which provides visual and audible warnings to drowsy and distracted drivers. Other available features include automatic reverse braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, steering-link adaptive headlights, downhill control and a panoramic sunroof.
Subaru is credited with pioneering the compact crossover SUV concept, and the current version of the Forester remains a good choice in this category. The Forester’s engine power, however, doesn’t quite match its rivals, but this compact unit still makes driving pleasure, delivering confident, inspiring handling like a car and a relatively smooth ride. And while the Forester isn’t suited for really tough off-road driving, the new Wilderness model’s enhancements allow outdoor adventure enthusiasts to go a little further off the beaten path.
