Final Fantasy 14 Adds 1 million new players before Endwalker launches
Final Fantasy XIV’s growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down as more people are signing up to play it than ever before.
What started out as a failure, prompting the team at Square Enix to completely overhaul and relaunch the game, has grown into one of the most successful MMOs on the market. Final Fantasy XIV’s growth has resulted in 25 million registered players, up from 24 million in October, as reported by Eurogamer.
This number could increase even further today as the latest expansion, Endwalker, is finally out after launching early access last week. Hopefully the players have noticed Team info behind Final Fantasy XIV has been released because MMO’s servers are currently congested, with some players waiting in line with over 5000 players.
The team will give all registered players and Final Fantasy XIV owners a seven-day free game period. to compensate for all server congestion. The arrival of Endwalker also resulted in Final Fantasy XIV’s largest ever draw of concurrent players. As noted by Eurogamer, the peak concurrency for MMOs hit an all-time high two days ago, reaching 95,000 concurrent players, according to SteamDB. The previous record occurred in July, and was nearly 30,000 lower at 67,000. With Endwalker’s launch happening today, we wouldn’t be surprised if we hit a new concurrency record (assuming the servers can keep up).
