Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: Free PS5 upgrade available for PlayStation Plus subscribers
Joe Juba presents Final Fantasy VII Remake 8.75 when it launched back in 2020 on PlayStation 4, saying, “With clever (and surprising) additions to a classic world and its inhabitants, Final Fantasy VII Remake is artistically appealing. narrates nostalgia without being bound by it.” The Remake Intergrade was scrapped this past summer exclusively for the PS5, which has disappointed fans who haven’t been able to get their hands on the next-gen console. However, PS Plus subscribers who redeemed the vanilla Remake through the Sony-owned game service will receive the free Intergrade upgrade. Furthermore, the Yuffie Intermission DLC is available at a discounted price for a limited time.
Starting this Wednesday…

The Final Fantasy VII Remake Twitter account posted a tweet detailing the good news (see above). The post is as follows:
“Starting this Wednesday [December 22]… PS Plus subscribers who previously redeemed Final Fantasy VII Remake for PlayStation Plus will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. Episode Intermission, DLC featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, will be 25% off for a limited time! ”
So, if you have a PlayStation 5 and own the Remake through PS Plus, keep an eye out for the Remake Update this weekend! Other than that, Episode Intermission is totally worth your time. I reviewed Yuffie’s journey and enjoyed my time seeing Midgar through her eyes:
“Episode Intermission is brought to life by its vibrant, though goofy, protagonist. I love how Yuffie’s personality manifests in the myriad ways in which she interacts with each setting – i.e. sliding down columns or throwing her shuriken at distant mechanical switches to solve lip puzzles. school. Exploration and combat are underpinned by an eclectic score that hums sports trumpet as well as wailing guitar riffs… I can’t wait to see how [Yuffie] in line with what’s next for Redo. ”
In other Final Fantasy news, a PC port for VII Remake Intergrade was announced at The Game Awards 2021, and more recently Final Fantasy XIV Temporarily withdrawn from stores due to Endwalker congestion issues.
