A court in Delhi on Monday convicted a man for being part of a rioting mob that burned homes during riots in the national capital in February 2020.
Additional Sessions Judge Virender Bhat convicted Dinesh Yadav of being a member of an illegal gang, rioting, arson, breaking into a home and robbing.
“The defendant was convicted of offenses punishable under sections 143 (member of an illegal assembly), 147 (punishment for riot), 148 (riot with a deadly weapon), 457 ( demolition), 392 (robbery), 436 (arson) of the IPC read section 149 (member of the common crime illegal panel) of the IPC,” the judge stated in the order and listed the matter for consideration. sentencing order on December 22.
