Since our test car was equipped with a long-range battery and all-wheel drive, we also benefited from the Ioniq 6’s highest output powertrain, with 320 hp. force and torque of 446 pound-feet. Equipped as such, the car is a joy to drive, with fast off-road acceleration and great bursts of speed when traversing the highway. The Ioniq 6 2023 also maneuvers well on sharp turns and in tight parking lots.

While I generally like my first taste of the 2023 Ioniq 6, there are a few things to keep in mind, however. First, while CarPlay and Auto are standard, they are not wireless. You must connect using a USB-C cord to access them. Second, the steering column-mounted gear lever will take some time to get used to its knob at the end.
Overall, this new Hyundai electric model is agile and spacious as well as comfortable and quick. Plus, with a maximum range of 361 miles, you have an electric vehicle that can quell lingering range concerns as we wait for the infrastructure to become more robust. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is shipping to dealers as we speak, with a possible late summer of 2023 delivery of the base SE with standard range batteries.
