Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Manny Pacquiao 50-0
After more than 5 years of long wait, the incident finally happened on May 2, 2015 – the long-awaited duel between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao. Most observers feel that it finally happened four or five years too late.
It can happen as early as March 2010, and it continues to happen more than 5 years later, and by the time it happens neither Floyd nor Manny are quite the same, even if they are still considered the two best boxers in the world at that time. Hard to believe that the war took place more than 7 years ago.
7 years ago! And amazingly, at least a few times a week, each and every week, you can still see the same debates over and over on the online boxing forums. Who is greater? Mayweather or Pacquiao? And those conversations often revolve around the fundamental debate about which achievement is greater? The flawless 50-0 mark of the great Floyd Mayweather Jr? Or the unprecedented achievement of the great Manny Pacquiao as the only 8th ranked champion in boxing’s rich long history? Will either record be broken? And how do these landmark achievements compare to some of the other incredible feats in boxing history?
This edition of Rummy’s Corner will attempt to address all these questions and the ongoing debate that is still large in the boxing world regarding the greatness of Mayweather and Pacquiao.
