Former child star Lance Kerwin dies aged 62
The television industry has lost a lifelong talent.
Lance Kerwinwho became a star in the ’70s for shows like Salem Lot and James at the age of 15, died on January 24, his agent John Boitano confirmed with E! News. He is 62 years old. No cause of death has been revealed.
“I’ve worked with Lance for two years, he’s an intelligent, funny and compassionate person,” Boitano said in a statement. “He’s looking forward to continuing his acting career, he recently had a role in Wind and calculation, I enjoyed our time together and considered him a friend as well as a customer. I will miss him.”
Kerwin rose to prominence as a child actor, appearing in many television series including Little House on the Prairie, The Holvak family and Miraculous woman.
He starred in James at the age of 15—later called James at the age of 16 when the character turns 16 — the main character is James Hunter, the son of a university professor who is passionate about photography. In the series, James struggles with adjusting to his new life after his family moves across the country from Oregon to Massachusetts.
