Forspoken has a release date and new trailer showcasing Frey’s enemies
Forspoken is an upcoming action/role-playing game from Square Enix’s Luminous Productions and it has some top talent behind it. The game’s writing team includes Gary Whitta, Amy Hennig, Allison Rymer, and Todd Stashwick. But we still haven’t seen much of the game, which revolves around a young woman named Frey who is transported from New York City to a fantasy world. A new trailer shown at The Game Awards tonight changed that, introducing us to one of Frey’s enemies, played by Pollyanna McIntosh (Zombie).
In the trailer, Frey asks to go home and says she doesn’t know how she got to this strange world. But it doesn’t seem like she’s exactly having a great time, as she has to deal with fire-breathing dragons and the animal and human threats that are attacking her. And she’s pretty much blamed for everything, with everyone saying she infiltrated the land and caused this battle to begin. Thankfully, she has some fun spells to use, and what looks like a skateboard to move around with ease. You can check out the trailer above to see it all in action.
Forspoken launches May 24 for PS5 and PC. The game is supposed to take advantage of the graphics capabilities of Sony’s new system, with ray tracing and process generation.
