“We sincerely appreciate the continued support of TVG, NYRA, 1/ST Racing and Keeneland in helping to raise important funds for the PDJF and also in raising awareness of its mission,” said President and CEO. Jockeys’ Guild chief executive Terry Meyocks said. “Without guaranteed funding from the industry, this event is a major fundraising for the organization that provides monthly monetary support to approximately 60 riders who have experienced serious injuries on the track. Active and retired riders will answer the phone to donate while providing racing fans across the country a unique opportunity to talk and socialize with their favorite racers. ”
Jockeys participating in the event included retired stars Alex Solis, Chris McCarron, Don Brumfield, Ramon Dominguez, Laffit Pincay, Sandy Hawley, Mike Manganello, Shane Sellers, Donna Brothers and Steve Cauthen. They will feature Mike Smith, John Velazquez, Julian Leparoux, Corey Lanerie, Joe Bravo and Tyler Gaffalione among other prominent riders riding at Keeneland and Santa Anita that day.
Nancy LaSala, President of PDJF said: “On behalf of the PDJF and our recipients, we are grateful that TVG provided this platform and hosted the annual telethon. “The combined donations from the three telethons held in 2018, 2019 and 2021 have raised more than three-quarters of a million dollars for the PDJF. We are grateful for the opportunity to host the telethon in October 2021 after shortening the gap of 30 months due to the pandemic and we are delighted to return to the original scheduled April for the event. this. “

In addition to the Breeders’ Cup ticket, there will be several other items available to win in the telethon’s hourly sweepstakes.
