Frankel's half-brother Kikkuli trains to shake off his maiden status at Newmarket

Juddmonte resembles home Kikkuli (GB) (King {GB}–Kind {Ire}, of Danehill), a member of the whole Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), backed up a promising debut effort at Newmarket last November with a neck win over the same seven-furlong strip on his second year return in the Alex Scott Maiden on Thursday. Dad returned to HQ.
Manager Harry Charlton admitted: “It's great to have him on, but it comes with a bit of pressure. “We try to push that pressure away, Juddmonte doesn't put pressure on and this win would mean a lot for the family as well as for the race. He hasn't done much and we're happy because he's given a lot of conditions since last year. He has gained 27 kg and our only concern is whether he is healthy enough or not. There are no immediate plans and Ryan [Moore] think he'll be even better next year, but that doesn't mean we won't do anything this year! We'll talk to Juddmonte and see what they want to do.”

Drawing closer to the quarter-mile mark, the 5-2 second choice inched ahead past the furlong post and continued strongly under late attack to deny Creation Story (GB) (Too Darn Hot {GB}) with a neck in a blanket .
