In the second and third innings, Magsayo used the upper right key against Russell, who mainly used his stroke. In round 4, in the first seconds, Magsayo hurt Russell with a body shot. The lower Russell seems to be leaning towards his right shoulder which may have been injured.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Magsayo continued to dominate the fight, with Russell rarely using his right hand. In the seventh round, Russell took several lead hits against Magsayo. In the eighth round, it was close, with Russell landing a body lead but counterattacked by a Magsayo just above the chin.

In the ninth round, Russell was one step ahead of the approaching Magsayo, counter-attacking well. After each round, Russell continues to finish in his corner. In the tenth round, Magsayo began to cut the ring more, but Russell’s left counter-attack landed well. Magsayo has worked for the body most parts.

In the eleventh round, once again, it was another close round with Russell counter-attacking with the charging Magsayo. In the twelfth and final inning, Russell repeatedly landed a double lead on the left.

Mid-round, Magsayo cornered Russell, throwing multiple punches to the body. For the rest of the round, Russell counter-attacked well. The referee is Benjy Esteves, Jr.

In the first half, both landed well, and Matias had a stronger shot than either of them. During the second and third innings, Ananyan landed a right on Matias’ chin, bringing him to focus on his body. In the fourth round, Matias came back well in a wild grounding, having the edge over Ananyan with a strong finish.

In the fifth inning, Ananyan, at the last minute, let Matias come back up with some coordination despite receiving a warning for low hitting from referee Mary Glover. In the sixth round, it was Ananyan who pitted Matias against the rope for all rounds from both fighters until the bell. In the seventh inning, after the third warning for low shots, Matias lost a point. The action continued with Ananyan leaving Matias against the rope in the last minute.

In the eighth round, Ananyan controlled with a left hook to Matias’ chin. In the last thirty seconds, Matias landed right on Ananyan’s chin.

In the ninth round, Matias controlled, and in the final twenty seconds, Matias defeated Ananyan with a left hook to the chin for a count of 8.

Referee Glover gave him more time to re-coup when the bell rang. Ananyan had swelling in both eyes in the corner when the doctor on duty walked in, informed referee Glover to stop the game.
After nine innings, this writer had Ananyan leading 85-84.

2012 featherweight Olympic silver medalist Tugstsogt “Turgator King” Nyambayar, 12-2-1 (9), #128, of Mongolia and LA, CA, ended in a split decisive draw with sub-finalist Sakaria Lukas, 25-1-1 (17), #127 ½, of Windhoek, Namibia, more than ten laps.

In the first round, a monster left hook from Nyambayar to the chin shook Lukas’ head mid-round. In the second half, Nyambayar controlled the first half.

In the final thirty seconds, Lukas used an effective jab that landed a left hook followed by a combination of three punches to Nyambayar’s chin. In the third round, after a minute, Nyambayar landed with a right chin-butt while Lukas counter-attacked with a left hook to the chin.

In the fourth inning, at midway through Nyambayar, a left hook to Lukas’ chin sent him back several steps. He continued to attack. In the fifth round, Nyambayar unleashed consecutive punches. Midway through the round, Nyambayar rocked Lukas with a jolt to the right chin. With one minute remaining in the game, Nyambayar injured Lukas with a punch to the chin, nearly dropping Lukas.

In the sixth and seventh innings, Lukas returned to the fight, knocking the lead to Nyambayar’s chin. In the round of 16, Nyambayar left the shot, causing Lukas to counterattack with a stab that looked like a knock, but referee Eddie Claudio missed. Lukas seems to have the advantage at the end of the round right.

In the ninth inning, it went back and forth with a powerful Nyambayar finish. In the tenth and final round, after half a minute, Nyambayar had a combination that touched Lukas’ chin. Lukas returned with his own right to Nyambar chin.
