Petrol and diesel prices today: Petrol and diesel prices were unchanged on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Previously, the Delhi government reduced the value-added tax (VAT) on gasoline from 30% to 19.40%. As a result, petrol prices in the national capital have fallen by Rs 8.56 per liter. A liter of petrol now costs Rs 95.41 from Rs 103.97 previously. However, diesel price was unchanged at Rs 86.67 in Delhi.
In Mumbai, petrol retails for Rs 109.98 per liter, while diesel is sold for Rs 94.14 per liter. Among metro cities, fuel prices are still the highest in Mumbai. Rates vary from state to state due to VAT. (Also Read: How to check the latest gas and diesel prices in your city).

State-run refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum will adjust fuel prices on a daily basis, taking into account international crude oil prices and the US dollar exchange rate. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices will be made from 6:00 a.m. daily.
Oil prices rose slightly on Friday, December 10 and posted their biggest weekly gain since late August, with market sentiment improving on easing concerns about the impact of the coronavirus variant Omicron on global economic growth and fuel demand.
