Ramirez is fast approaching Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 record that was set in 1955 and despite being broken many times by those who overcame it were still beaten. Currently holding the unbeaten record with the most wins is Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s 50-0 record set during his last fight in 2017, then retired.
For Ramirez, it may be necessary to win the title for an all-Mexican world title match against current WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF IBF super middleweight champions Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, 57-1-2 (39), who is looking to challenge for a possible cruiser title with WBC champion Ilunga Junior Makabu, 28-2 (25), South African, who is scheduled to defend in January.
