Gisele Bundchen: Super model is praised after rescuing sea turtles caught in fishing nets | News about Ant-Man & Art
Gisele Bundchen went from supermodel to supermodel after saving a sea turtle caught in a fishing net.
Bundchen, 41, posted a video of the rescue to her Instagram on Saturday.
“Life is a series of opportunities that arise every day, and we choose what to do with them. Today is no different,” she wrote in the post.
The mother-of-two said she came across the turtle while walking her dog Onyx.
While walking, Onyx “began barking at a pile of ocean trash that had drifted at high tide”.
“As I got closer, I saw this beautiful turtle overturned with a hopeless and exhausted look, its body constricted and entangled in the fishing net,” Bundchen wrote.
In the clip, Bundchen can be seen removing the net from the upside-down turtle and turning the turtle over after it was freed. Bundchen then carried the tortoise, which was flapping its flippers into the water.
Bundchen said she carried the large turtle out to sea because she was too tired to return by herself.
“I immediately set out to free her from the net that was strangling her, but even after we untied her, she was too tired to return to the ocean,” she wrote.
She said the encounter reminded her of all those animals that are not freed from human debris and die, and that humans must protect animals.
“Today I was reminded that we must be more conscious of our way as a species and help protect all animals, it’s our choice,” she wrote.
Celebrities were quick to praise the supermodel, with Gal Gadot commenting “The Queen” and Heidi Klum adding “I love you”.
Lewis Hamilton, Gigi Hadid, and her superstar husband Tom Brady simply made heart comments to show their appreciation for the act of warming.
Bundchen has previously expressed an association with sea turtles. The model recently participated in the UN’s “Wild for Life” campaign. As part of the campaign, Bundchen chose an animal as his “kindness”.
