Glassnote Records inks global distribution deal with The Orchard
Indie music company Glassnote Profileknown for signing and developing Grammy-winning works like Mumford & Sons and Phoenix, has new distribution partners.
Glassnote has entered into a global distribution partnership with Fruit gardenowned by Music by Sony.
The new partnership comes three years after Glassnote entered into a global partnership with Kobalt‘S AWAL.
With the AWAL deal now presumably expiring, Glassnote is sticking with Sony Music, through a partnership with a Sony-ownership entity. AWAL is headquartered in the former UK buying by Sony for $430 million in May 2021.
Glassnote initially joined RED Distribution, a subsidiary of Sony Music Groupin 2008.
Then it switches the global distribution to Universal Music Group before its AWAL transaction claim in 2018, and now returns to Sony Music Group with the acquisition of The Orchard.
Under Glassnote’s agreement with The Orchard, the company later said it would provide the giant’s full artist roster independently with its worldwide network of services and capabilities.
Started in 2007 by Daniel GlassGlassnote Records is also home to CHVRCHES, AURORA, Two Door Cinema Club, Daughter, and other artists.
Over the past decade, Glassnote Records’ success includes releases like the Grammy Awards Win Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (2009) album by French indie pop band Phoenix.
Other successful Glassnote albums in recent years include Mumford & Sons’ No more sigh (2009) and Babel (2012), won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2013; and Childish Gambino’s Camp (2011) Because of the Internet (2013) and Awaken my love (2016) album.
