GMC Hummer EV in digital version to join ‘Call of Duty’ this fall
- Blowing the bad guys off the comfy couch is about to get a little more horsepower, thanks to the upcoming introduction of GMC Hummer EV arrive Call of Duty series of video games.
- Hummer will be available as a playable vehicle in Modern War II (starting October 28) and Warzone 2.0 (later this fall).
- Previous popular games include Humvees and Digital Jeeps. Jeep even produces a small number Call of Duty–Special editions branded a decade ago.
The US military uses more than 100 million barrels of oil a year, making it one of the world’s largest consumers of petroleum. Over the past decade, the military has also spent millions of dollars converting some vehicles to electric power. These are the important details to know before we get the news that the GMC Hummer EV will soon be available as a playable vehicle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 video games.
This week, GMC said the digitized version of the Hummer EV will deliver an estimated 1000 horsepower and 3.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph for Activision video games before the end of the year. Big EV will be available in Modern War II on October 28 and year Warzone 2.0 later this fall.
Other real-world vehicles have appeared in Call of Duty previous game. Jeep Wrangler has appeared several times, such as the original Humvee. Jeep even builds a small number Call of Duty–Vehicles that were branded about a decade ago, including a Black Ops Version and a Modern War 3 Version.

GM Defense President David Albritton told GM Authority in 2020 that the Hummer EV “could provide a great base platform for an electric vehicle to be used in a military context.” GM has a long history of building vehicles for the US military. Last year, GM Defense produced a one-off concept vehicle based on the Ground Forces Vehicle (ISV) but with a zero-emission powertrain. The All Electric Concept Vehicle aims to showcase what is possible with military electric vehicles and what could one day replace the electric powered ISV for the US Army.
