Uttarakhand is home to myths, magic and majestic mountains. The area is surrounded by sacred mountain peaks, lakes and rivers. Despite the presence of beautiful Shiva and Parvati temples throughout the state, traces of the British era are still quite evident – the thrilling stories of hunter Jim Corbett living in a tiger reserve famous for his name. Blessed with beautiful landscapes, including lush forests and a tranquil river in the park, Corbett is a destination much larger than the national park itself. However, in my opinion, Corbett is not limited to just true wildlife lovers – there are countless fun, leisurely as well as adventurous activities that can be enjoyed.
Corbett is the only major tiger reserve that offers accommodation and lodges inside the park. For those looking for a luxurious stay, this place offers luxury resorts outside of the woods. And when it comes to choosing the right resort, both hospitality and the opportunity to soak up a certain culture are key for me. I experienced this recently at Golden Tusk.

The Jungle Safari is of course one of Jim Corbett’s main tourist attractions and brings in hundreds of thousands of tourists every year but what makes all the difference is which safari you book and who directs you there. there. In my case, both culminated and ended up spotting a tigress. And when you come back from hours of hunting in the woods, head to the spa and rejuvenate yourself with the other activities the resort has to offer – from outdoor adventures to live music nights in the evenings. .
Rooms at The Golden Tusk:
The rooms at The Golden Tusk are bright and cool with private balconies/patios to soak in the green surroundings. There are eight types of rooms and suites – Nature View Suite, Pool View Suite, Villa, Villa Grande, Tiger Suite, Garden Suite, Corbett Suite and Luxury Tent. You can choose from these categories and get ready for the ultimate pampering. I stayed at the Corbett Suite, which is also their presidential suite. It comes with a spacious balcony facing the large lawn and swimming pool. A spacious room, comfortable enough for family as well as for a group of friends. Rooms are stylishly furnished and feature a unique selling point. Some have pool and garden views while others face the forest and give you panoramic views of the forest.
The decoration of the rooms is also based on the minimalist idea that makes the rooms look very spacious and gives a relaxing feeling.
Food and Drink at The Golden Tusk:
It’s easy to fall victim to a fast-paced world. Never-ending work, meetings and errands, we often miss the little things in life, or just relax – and when it comes to cooking, we always have to sit back. But if you stay at The Golden Tusk, you’ll be spoiled for choice. How do you ask? The resort boasts two restaurants offering a wide range of options – from contemporary cuisine and local delights to sparkling cocktails, you’ll find everything at The Golden Tusk that you want on vacation or your place of residence.
Golden Forest Restaurant: The all-day dining restaurant offers great culinary fusion right to your table. From Italian, Indian to Chinese and even Kumaoni, you name it and they have it! I tried their Kumaoni thali, and immediately fell in love with the flavors, and oh the variety – I’m spoiled for choice, literally!
Deck of cards: The newly launched restaurant at The Golden Tusk, The Deck is the perfect spot for a dinner date. So if you’re newly engaged or married (or even single), go there and dine under the stars on their top deck and get ready for some pampering. Try their grilled platter – both the non-veg options and the food are amazing! Chef Chander and Chef Bhupendra did a great job in curating the menu.
Staff and Services at The Golden Tusk:
It rarely happens, at least to me, that you’re more impressed with people than the food and decor of the place. But it happened here! Kriti Lakhotia and Anirudh Lakhotia (Founder and Director of The Golden Resort) have done a wonderful job in selecting people who tirelessly make our stay here comfortable. Suresh Rawat – the CSR handler – made it really easy for me to navigate everything in the resort. Right from the CEO – Virender Singh, the front desk staff (Ravindra Adhikari, Arti, Kamlesh and the bell boys – Pratap, Anil and Narendra) and the housekeeping staff (Manju and Vishal) to the service staff as well. dining at the water restaurant (Gajendra) – all are so welcoming and welcoming and this can make packing up and leaving the place even more difficult. This is probably how the people of the Kumaoni region – sweet and very hospitable. Also a special greeting to the restaurant staff (Deepak Phartiyal, Badal, Prakash, Arti, Himanshu Manral, Deepak Arya, Ganesh and Tanu); they’ll keep feeding you…so get ready to put on some holiday weight (pun intended!).
