GoPro’s new battery clip triples your action time – TechCrunch
You just know Your battery will come into play at the worst possible moment, right when you’ve perfected your sick, autobiographical skateboarding tricks, man. The new one GoPro HERO10 Black Creator Edition (who names these, jeez) has directional audio, 5.3K video, LED light sources, and Volta handles supported.
It’s wild to think back to 2006, when the first HERO camera was released, complete with preloaded 35mm film and a $22 price tag. Hero10 is indeed a very different monster. It costs two arms and some legs – it will set you back $784.95 (or the equally odd price of $531.95, if you also subscribe to a one-year GoPro).
The camera also has some cool software tricks, including award-winning HyperSmooth digital video stabilization and the option to shoot 1/8-speed slow-mo video.
“HERO10 Creator Edition is like having Hollywood in your hands. It’s the perfect setup for shooting professional-quality video when vlogging, filmmaking, or even live streaming,” said GoPro CEO and founder Nicholas Woodman. “Leave batteries and extra gear, all you need is Creator Edition and you can create cinematic magic – all day long. You will have to recharge and refuel yourself before even thinking about recharging your GoPro.”
The Volta Battery Grip has an additional 4,900 mAh battery and is capable of working in conjunction with the camera’s built-in battery to give you four hours of 4K 30fps recording. If you shoot at a lower resolution, it will extend the battery life even more. Clever, the handle has legs; Fold them out and you have a tripod for still and/or time-lapse photography.
The Volta is also compatible with HERO9 Black and it will charge any USB-C compatible device, including the GoPro MAX and older GoPro cameras. You can buy it separately for $99.99 if you’re a GoPro subscriber, or $129.99 are not registration.
