Government reacts more than Rs 6,600 Crore for dividend from CPSE dozen

The government has received around Rs 6,600 crore as dividends from dozens of central public sector enterprises (CPSEs), including GAIL, NMDC and Power Grid.
“The government has received approximately Rs 972 crore and Rs 2506 crore from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited as a dividend payment,” said Minister for Investment and Public Asset Management. (DIPAM) Tuhin Kanta Pandey said in a tweet on Monday.
In addition, Hindustan Aeronautics, Bharat Electronics, HLL Lifecare Ltd, FAGMIL and NSIC have issued dividends of Rs 351 crore, Rs 149 crore, Rs 19 crore, Rs 12 crore and Rs 31 respectively.
“Government received around Rs 1605 crore and Rs 913 crore from NMDC and GAIL respectively as Dividends,” he said in another tweet.
He said about Rs 42 crore, Rs 26 and Rs 25 were received from Central Logistics Corporation, National Expressway Infrastructure Development Corporation and WAPCOS.
In total, the government received Rs 6,651 crore dividends on Monday from these 12 companies. With this, the total amount of dividend proceeds from public sector businesses comes in close to Rs 40,000 crore for the current fiscal year to date.
