Guide to finding 'The Whisper' in Destiny 2 to get the Whisper of the Worm
“Whisper,” one of the best quests in Destiny history, is finally back Destiny 2 as part of Come into the light after many years of hiatus. It carries a fully craftable version of the Whisper of the Worm Exotic sniper rifle.
In this Destiny 2 instructions, we will guide you How to Complete “The Whisper” and sampling for Whisper of the Worm. Whether it's your first time participating in “The Whisper” or it's been too long for you to remember which way to go, we're here to help.
How to start 'The Whisper' in Destiny 2
Having “The Whisper” back is great. But what's even better is that Bungie has tweaked how you actually start the mission. Gone are those days Pursue public events on Io (a planet that is sadly still missing from the game). Now you just need Talk to Eris to kick things off.
Fly to the Moon and talk to her. She will give it to you.”Whispers of the past” a search. From there, all you need to do is open the “Into the Light” menu on Director and select “The Whisper.”
Completing the Exotic quest will get you the model for Whisper of the Worm.
Destiny 2 'The Whisper' Guide
When you load up “The Whisper,” you will find yourself at the end of the old section The lost forest of Ulan-Tan. You'll quickly notice you have a 40-minute timer at the start (20 minutes if you're in Legendary mode). When the timer runs out, you and your fireteam will put the launch back into orbit and you'll need to start again.
Move forward and look straight ahead. You'll see a small Vex block in the distance. Shoot it to create some platforms. Follow the path to Taken Blight. Destroy it then drop it into the hole.
Follow the path ahead, crouching to get through the smaller areas. Finally, you will find yourself in a large room. Stick to the right and the light is red. Jump down the wall and watch out for the pinball levers that shoot out to your right. Follow the red light across the room's platforms until you reach the center block.
From here, there is no clear way out. Go forward, past the glowing cracks and towards the left wall of the room – this wall will be directly in front of you when you land. You will need to jump around the corner here, on your right.
Crouch down and start going through the gap, waiting for the blocks to move back into the wall. Be patient here and don't rush, remember that – for internet reasons – the cache may move differently for you than for your other fireteam members. Go block by block until you reach the other side.
After the blocks, look left and jump across the canyon to the cliff face with the orbs on it. Follow the path to the right until you reach a small square elevator. Jump up and ride square to the next platform, which will be red and right in front of you. Run forward along the wall and turn left immediately into the white hallway.
Go through the diamond shaped room and jump through the diamond hole. Jump onto the ledges in the long room ahead of you, waiting for their repulsive blast to go off before moving forward. Destroy the Taken Vandals while you wait. Jump across the room, avoiding the explosions until you reach the wall of white light. The door will open and close, so quickly enter the room.
Xol will start telling you about drifting when you enter the portal room. Jump to the right and hug the wall. Ignore all the gates until you reach the end of the right wall. Take the last gate at the top and enter the room below.
The Green Room as its name suggests can be very complicated if you try to go the long way, but there is a hidden shortcut here can save you many minutes in your spare time. Turn right and crouch down over the rubble. You'll find a crack here, between the rocks. Climb inside and find a hole in the wall (not one of the holes in the ground) that leads to a large cylinder.
Jump onto the edge of the cylinder and walk along it. You will end up with what looks like a diving board. Look away and down to see the opening before you. This is a long jump, so remember to save your jump until you near the bottom. After landing safely, move forward and crouch under the high ceiling.
How to defeat Tulgorh, Aspect of Agony, in Destiny 2
This is where the battle begins. You'll need to get through multiple rooms and completely clear them all to continue.
When you reach the boss arena, clear the area, then shoot Vex blocks to summon mini-bosses. Kill them to summon the real boss, a large goblin: Tulgorh, The Aspect of Pain. Kill the Mages to lower the boss's shield, then take it down for good.
Once all four bosses are dead, go to the chest that appears at the edge and you'll get it Whisper of the Worm strange sniper gun model.
Return to Eris for your first step of the week.”The whisper of a captive” quest that you need to do to upgrade your Whisper of the Worm.
