If you took a break from work on December 8 to play Halo Infinite, you might want to reconsider as it’s coming out tomorrow a little later than you expected, especially if you’re not in the US.
Eurogamer noted a release time for tomorrow’s launch of Halo Infinite, and due to the nature of the global launch, 343 Industries’ newest sci-fi shooter will launch early in the day in some places and late. much more during the day elsewhere. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
- West Coast: 10 a.m. PST
- Central region: Midday CT
- East Coast: 1pm EST
- UK: 6pm GMT
- Europe: 7pm CEST
- Hong Kong: 2 a.m. HKT (December 9)
- Tokyo: 3am JST (December 9)
- Australia: 5am AEDT (December 9)
As you can see, Halo Infinite won’t launch at a typical midnight tonight (i.e. the moment your watch hits midnight, the game won’t go live). While that’s the case with many launch titles, you’ll have to wait a little longer for Halo Infinite.
We mention this because we know Halo is a series that people often refer to as taking a break from work to play, in the hopes of getting through the campaign in one sitting or at least marathon fashion. While it’s still possible if you quit your job on December 8, depending on your location, it might be worth it to quit on December 9.
Sure, the West Coasters will have nearly a full day to play Halo Infinite if they take time off work, but for someone on the East Coast, Halo Infinite launches at 1 p.m., which is half the average shift. It might be worth spending more time working tomorrow, missing out on the first few hours since Halo launched, and playing the rest of the day when the work is done (and coming December 9th if you take the day off).
Eurogamer also note the download size of Halo Infinite. There are two downloads: one for multiplayer (which you may have downloaded because it has been working for weeks) and one for the campaign. The campaign download requires 62.78 GB of space on PC, so be prepared – as preloading is only available on PC, it’s unclear how much space the campaign requires on consoles Xbox.
