Halo Infinite: Slayer, Swat, Fiesta, and Free-for-All Playlists Hit Massively Tomorrow
The multiplayer team behind Halo Infinite said near the beginning of December that they are working on adding Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (Swat) and Free-For-All playlists to Halo Infinite before the end of the year. It also says that while it is working on a Slayer playlist, it won’t be ready until 2022.
343 Industries is making all your holiday wishes come true this December as they announced that the Fiesta, Tactical Slayer, FFA and Slayer playlists are coming tomorrow. This news comes from Halo Infinite’s lead multiplayer designer, Andrew Witts, who informed? that all four new playlists will launch tomorrow, December 14.
“As I noted last week, the team’s original plans for the Slayer playlist included a bunch of new variations that wouldn’t be ready for rollout before the holiday season,” 343 Industries wrote in a note. Posts on Reddit linked by Witts on Twitter. “To address player feedback on Slayer going forward, we will be releasing a base Slayer offering to start with and will look to consolidate and expand with more variations in the update. Future.”
It looks like 343 Industries has more expansion plans for the Slayer playlist, possibly alluding to variations like Snipers Only or Shotguns and Swords, but for now, it looks like Slayer will still be the classic Slayer. Along with the news about these playlists, the studio announced that some of the more frustrating challenges specific to specific modes will also be tweaked.
“Next week’s update will also include tweaks to challenges including removing some particularly nasty challenges that are specific to specific modes, reducing some requirements for others, doing for the weekly ultimate challenge to become less intensive (get there hard enough) and add brand new challenges specific to the new playlist,” the Reddit post reads. “Personally, I’m eager to explore a new category of challenges based on player score accumulation (a small initial step towards ‘performance-based’ XP).”
Elsewhere in the post, 343 Industries said they are aware of the Big Team Battle-related glitches currently occurring in Halo Infinite. Be sure to check out the full Reddit post for more details.
