Via Matt Lieberman: In a move that looks almost like the stage, like a 100% Premeditated action, Devin Haney shoved the silent Vasyl Lomachenko roughly during their confrontation at today’s weigh-in.
Looking like a stage actor, undisputed lightweight champion Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) pushed challenger Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) hard enough to whip him in the neck as if he was in a car accident and sent him flying backwards about six feet above the stage.
Stunned Lomachenko didn’t have enough time to react to the shove before Haney disappeared from the stage like an actor saying his lines and leaving, making sure he didn’t bump into any pitch props. any stage along the way.

Haney took a page from the play of Canelo Alvarez, who shoved Caleb Plant during their confrontation at the kick-off press conference in 2021.
The difference with that incident was that Canelo was on his feet when Plant turned around and tried to slap him with a left hook. Canelo blocked the shot and nailed Plant to the head with his right hand, sending his sunglasses flying. Unlike Canelo, Haney flees the stage after completing his intended goal.

George Kambosos Jr. fightin response to Devin Haney shoving Vasyl Lomachenko during their confrontation today at Saturday’s weight event in Las Vegas.
“He was pumped up. This is a pretty pivotal moment,” Kambosos said when asked why Haney pushed Lomachenko. “It will be very interesting tomorrow.
“Usually he didn’t, but he was very enthusiastic. I’m sure Loma is also ready to fight. It will be a great fight. That might have been Haney’s thoughts, wanting to really get to know Loma.
“It could be Haney showing him, ‘I’m here. I’m ready to show him what I’ve got’, or maybe other things will happen as well. It’s a big fight, there’s a lot of emotion, and there’s a lot of danger.
“There is a lot of pressure on both sides. Maybe he said, ‘I’ll try to understand him’ or that was the moment and it happened. Devin is clearly the bigger guy with a 6 inch gap.
“Loma looks tough too. He’s also a bit of a size for him, but on the physical side, it’s clear that Haney has that,” said Kambosos Jr.
