Happy smile when showing Stephen Foster
Lucky Seven Stables ‘TDN’s Rising Star‘ smile happily (Runhappy), impressive GII winner Alysheba S. on the GI Kentucky Oaks card at Churchill Downs May 5, will start next in the $1 million GI Stephen Foster S. July 1, coach Ken McPeek told the track’s media office on Friday.
Ranked eighth in last year’s GI Kentucky Derby, the $185,000 Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearling Showcase graduate returned from a 10-month absence with an impressive allowance win at Oaklawn Park on March 16 and finished a good third in the GIII Oaklawn Mile on April 1 before beating GI World Cup Hero Pegasus Art Collector (Bernardini) by two lengths 7-1 in Alysheba. He received the 110 Beyer High Speed Number for the effort, the highest number per mile so far in 2023.
McPeek reports that joint ownership Rattle N Roll (Connect), final winner of GIII Ben Ali S. at Keeneland April 22, will go on to GIII Blame S. on Stephen Foster Preview Day Saturday, June 3.
The Foster offers winners an all-expenses-paid landing in the GI Breeders’ Cup Classic as part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series.
