In: It’s all about poppy red. You can wear it top-to-toe or add just a touch to your look with a bag, shoes or even lipstick. Remember that not all reds are created equal – make sure it’s a saturated red.
Triple denim is also gaining traction, and it’s not just for your body, with denim accessories popping up everywhere. Nothing is cuter than a denim look that extends to your footwear or bag, just make sure that the denim is not too matchy-matchy. It’s more about complementing shades of denim rather than one colour top-to-toe.
Out: If you haven’t already left behind your skinny jeans, it is time to do so. Also, anything overly inflated like all-over logos needs to be retired.
Flares: In. Jorts: Out.
Working alongside brands such as Tiffany & Co, Gucci and Giorgio Armani, model Harrison Kennedy has developed a strong sense of youthful style. Kennedy also works as a content creator and mental health advocate with the podcast Really Mental.
In: I’m all about the ’70s revival. A throwback to flared jeans and boots will capture the essence of the era. In fact, 2024 will be all about cowboy boots and chunky-heeled western styles.
Expect to see a rise in tailored flared suit pants paired with relaxed blazers, marrying comfort with a sharp aesthetic. Accessories will also be big with strategically chosen necklaces, rings and watches, making minimalist outfits stand out.
Out: The casual combo of jorts (jean shorts) and sneakers was everywhere in 2023 but should take a serious break in 2024, making way for more formal attire.
Sustainability: In. Fast Fashion: Out.

In: For me, sustainability is becoming increasingly important in my fashion choices. I love working with and shopping brands that are ethical and consciously creating sustainable clothing. Focusing on the longevity of the pieces I wear and own is key, and a simple first step in increasing the sustainability of your own wardrobe and style.
Out: I think we all should leave fast fashion in 2023. I’m definitely moving away from purchasing single-use clothing and focusing more on higher-quality, longer-lasting pieces. A re-wear here and there never hurt.
Crochet: In. Bare chests: Out.
Since leaving Married at First Sight Duncan James, with partner Evelyn Ellis, has partnered with numerous brands and events while continuing his career in cybersecurity sales.
In: I’m keen to explore more vests and sleeveless shirts, and I really love crochet tops with baggy pants. The great thing is that all of these styles work really well for an Australian summer. When it comes to suiting I’m hoping to see a bit of gold and bold.
Out: We’ve seen far too much of the distressed sneaker look. For the love of god, I hope that doesn’t continue. Also, bare-chested suits are a no-go for me. If you’re suiting up, at least put a singlet or light shirt on.
