Happenning FDII x Lakmé Fashion Weekback in physical form after two years of digital and plant formats, closed the day yesterday at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi with sustainable fashion brands present collections made using sustainable creations.
It also saw actors Shruti Haasan and Kangana Ranaut walk the ramp for adidas x Antar Agni and Khadi and Village Industries (KVIC) originals respectively.

adidas Originals x Antar Agni

Shruti Haasan walk on the runway as a performer for adidas x Antar Agni originals, look at her grunge-chic dressed herself in a black suit and braided hair. “Antar-Agni represents change and liberation through burnt orange, teal, ivory and black to create bold combinations with matte fabrics. The subtle play of embroidered graphics and the abstract placement of layers enhances the smooth silhouettes along with sharpness,” the official Lakmé Fashion Week Instagram account shared about the collection.
Rimzim DaduStructured, metallic haute couture creations further lit by natural rhinestones, highlight the iridescent quality of the designer’s creation, something that has become an aesthetic brand highlights.
Designer Divyam Mehta has introduced her collection, ‘Made from Agricultural Waste’, in partnership with AltMat, an enterprise that develops textiles from agricultural waste. Curtains, hybrids, hand-sewn, kantha feature in this capsule collection. It is also a spin on the shadow of the Dongria Kondh tribe.

Kangana Ranaut is back presenter for Khadi and Village Industries (KVIC), walking on an ivory ramp khadi saris with a trench coat to match. Kangana also took to her Instagram account to share the importance of khadi as a fabric, saying: “To be truly global, one must first be truly local. Khadi could be the hope for the entire world that is struggling with pollution from the fashion industry…. Millions of tons of synthetic fabrics are thrown into the sea every year and fashion industry waste is destroying land, air and water equally… Khadi an organic and eco-friendly fabric is the ultimate solution that the world world is looking for…”
Payal Pratap‘s ‘Java’ is a tribute to the designer’s expertise in fun prints. The collection consists of hand-drawn artworks that have since been digitized, including flora and fauna motifs such as flowers, leaves, trees, vines and birds.
