Holly Humberstone named British Rising Star of 2022 – following in Adele and Sam Smith’s footsteps | News about Ant-Man & Art
Holly Humberstone won the 2022 British Rising Star award ahead of the main ceremony the following year.
The award, which has previously been won by the likes of Adele and Sam Smith, recognizes those who are likely to go on to have successful careers in music.
She shortlisted to fight the spread Artists Bree Runway and John Lewis advertise for singer Lola Young.
The 21-year-old, from Grantham in Lincolnshire, said: “I remember watching Britons with their parents every year and was absolutely amazed when the artists came together in what felt like another universe.
“Now to be named a British Rising Star and nominated alongside two other incredible women, whose songs start within four walls at home are insane.
“It just feels unreal. This year has been a wild ride and a first year, and I’m so grateful and thankful to everyone who helped make this happen.
“It was something I never thought I would be able to go through, I’m so lucky, I don’t know how to deal with it.”
“Everybody goes through some kind of faker syndrome, I’m definitely feeling it. This award is a chance to reflect since the release of the music, feel proud of yourself, and appreciate it. I appreciate that it’s my job and I’m so lucky.
“I was so excited and applauded when I was nominated, I was voted as part of that sick group.”

Her win marks an exciting year for Humberstone
Humberstone broke ground in recent years with the EP Falling Asleep At The Wheel and has been streamed over 200 million times worldwide.
She has won the Ivor Novello rising star award, runner-up in BBC Sound 2021 and YouTube artist on the rising crown, and has performed on The Late Late Show With James Corden and later.. With Jools Holland .
News of the win was shared with her by former winner Sam Fender as they collaborated on a new version of his track Seventeen Going Under, while Clara Amfo on BBC Radio One revealed news of the win. her show on Thursday nights.
Next year’s Brit Awards ceremony will take place at its home at the O2 Arena in east London on February 8, starring Amfo, Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama.
Men’s and Women’s Categories was removed for the first time by the organizers, instead featuring statues for international artists and artists of the year.
There will also be new categories at the refurbishment, including hip-hop / grime / rap act, alternative / rock, dance and pop / RnB.
