Honda says it has been contacted by multiple Formula 1 teams since signing up to the 2026 Formula 1 engine regulations but is not yet ready to confirm whether it will continue to participate in the sport.
Honda’s current F1 commitment runs until the end of 2025 as Red Bull’s engine supplier, but it has also registered as a manufacturer under the next set of regulations, under which power units will increase electricity capacity and use fuel fully sustainably by 2026.

Watanabe underscored Honda’s commitment to Red Bull through the end of the 2025 season and confirmed much of the production of the current engine, now known as the Honda-RBPT, will continue to be done in Japan.
“From 2026, Red Bull and Ford will cooperate and we have received advance notice, so Honda and Red Bull until 2025 will continue to trust and work closely and we aim to win the title. championship until 2025, so we have a policy of not changing about that.
“After 2026 onwards Red Bull will partner with Ford and we can’t say anything about that. But in other races we have a partnership with Red Bull, so we continue continue to cooperate together.
