A remake or remake of 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn is said to be in the works alongside a new Horizon multiplayer game.
This news comes from MP1streports that its sources told the publication that this remake/remake will feature improved lighting systems, overhauled textures, better animations, and more consistent character models with Forbidden Horizon in the West, the sequel to Zero Dawn released back in February. However, MP1ST note that its sources don’t indicate whether this is a “built from scratch” remake or a remake – it could be somewhere for all we know.
Based on MP1st, one of the big focuses of the project (ha) was bringing Forbidden West’s accessibility features to Zero Dawn, which Sony did with The Last of Us Part II and Part I. Regarding the gameplay changes play, the publication said its sources said it would be primarily an improvement in quality of life. It also says that it’s unclear whether this remake/remake will be on the scale of The Last of Us Part I or something lower. Only time will answer.
Along with a remake/remaster of Zero Dawn, MP1st says it has other sources saying that a PlayStation team, presumably Guerrilla Games, is developing an online multiplayer game set in the world of Horizon for PlayStation 5 and PC. MP1st there are two sources that can verify the project, and a third goes a step further, citing that the game may have “some form of co-op.” However, the publication notes that they haven’t been able to verify that or whether the game’s online functionality includes co-op or PvP.
Of course, take all of this as salt, but if these two games come to fruition, it looks like Sony is ready to bet bigger on the Horizon franchise. Okay The Last of Us Part I’s when and how long it will be released in the near future The Last of Us TV Show on HBOI wouldn’t be surprised if this potential Zero Dawn remake/remake was released around the same time as Netflix’s Upcoming Horizon TV Show.
