With an impressive career spanning from fashion editor at Elle Magazine to working on a wardrobe for an icon Harry Potter series, it’s no surprise that Temime elevates the costumes worn by main player in the Targaryen family: King Viserys I (Paddy Considine), Prince Daemon (Carpenter), Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy and Milly Alcock), Princess Rhaenys (Eve Best) and Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey), as well as the Cole family with Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel).
“Honestly, I’ve never seen ‘Game of Thrones,'” Temime told Tatler Magazine. “I got an offer during the quarantine and I think ‘House of the Dragon’ is interesting because it’s a prequel. Working on a prequel is like starting a new project, because it’s a prequel. not directly related to the original.” Initially unfamiliar with the original series, Temime managed to successfully combine concepts like color theory to create one-of-a-kind outfits for “House of the Dragon.”
Manufacturers have come up with the meaning behind the costumes, giving the colors a special meaning. Each color represents the color of each family member as well as their political relationship; such as red, black and yellow represent blood, death, sex and fire. “There is such a powerful story… Has influenced [silhouettes] – simple shapes and graphics helped bring out the colors even more – and [forced us] to see how these colors will appear on the screen,” shared Temime. One piece of clothing that stood out was the coronation dress of the young Princess Rhaenyra, symbolizing the pride she has. in the family, as those were the colors her father wore in his big league.
