You spend a spend a lot of time looking at your phone, so it’s important to make sure you’re viewing legible text — and although you can always accept the default text size on your Android or iPhone yourself, but it’s not too difficult to change it.
In fact, you’ll find several options to adjust font size and style, and even to zoom in on individual apps as needed.
Of course, as words get larger, the amount of information that can be displayed on the screen decreases, which means more scrolling. However, once you know how to access and adjust these settings, you can find the balance that’s right for you.
Android
On the stock version of Android that ships with Google’s own Pixel phones, you can change the size of text on the screen by opening Setting and then select Display and Font size. As you make changes via the slider at the bottom, you’ll see how they look on the preview text block displayed above the slider.
Come back Display menu, there is another setting to note: Screen size. This controls the size of on-screen objects such as menu buttons and app icons without touching the size of the actual text. Again, you use a slider to set your preferred profile, and a preview is available.
There’s also a bold effect, if you find that helps make text easier to read on screen. From SettingSelection AccessibilityLater Text and displayand then turn on Bold letters switch button. You may find that certain applications ignore this option, even though they are all subject to the font size setting.
Another setting to know is the magnification. From Accessibility in Settings press Exaggeration and you can set up a shortcut to magnify the screen as and when needed. This can be useful when there are some specific parts of your application that are hard to see but you don’t want to make any system-wide changes.
