If you still want easy access to apps but find that you have too many icons on your home screen, folders can help. To create a folder, drag an icon on top of another icon—it can be an app shortcut or a shortcut to something else, like a contact or website. The folder will be created and you can drag more shortcuts into it if needed. To rename a folder, tap the folder to open it, and then tap the folder’s name.
For example, you can create a social networking app folder or an app folder you need for work, or a folder with your most used contacts. Touch and hold, then drag individual icons to remove them from folders or remove them from the home screen—you can also touch, hold, and drag entire folders to the Delete button to remove them from the home screen without no need to install apps or shortcuts inside it.
When it comes to widgets, keep in mind that many of them can be resized: You may want to make some widgets smaller to free up some space or even make them large. more to keep your home screen simpler. Open the Settings screen on iOS and select Home screen to decide where to place the new app: Select App gallery only to add them to the final home screen, or Add to home screen to create another shortcut on the standard home screen. The former is the one used to keep your home screen as tidy as possible (you can easily add app shortcuts manually if needed).
If there is an app shortcut on the home screen that you want to remove, touch and hold, then drag the shortcut to reveal the small icon – (minus) the icon next to it. Click here to remove the shortcut without deleting the app. Any website shortcuts you may have created in Safari can be deleted in a similar way.
