Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 EV recalled in Australia
Hyundai remembering everything Ioniq 5 And Ioniq 6 electric vehicles (EVs) were sold in Australia as part of the a global campaign to resolve problems causing power outages.
“Due to a software issue in the onboard Charge Controller, the 12 Volt auxiliary battery may not charge as intended, resulting in battery drain and loss of motivation.
“Loss of driving power can increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
Hyundai Australia previously ran a service campaign, rolling out an ICCU software update while also offering to replace the ICCU if necessary.
Other electric vehicles from Hyundai Motor Group, including related vehicles Kia EV6 And Genesis GV60is also subject to recall.
This is different from a recall issued earlier this month for a defective drive shaft in the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 that could break and lead to loss of power.
A total of 118 vehicles was included in that recall.
